Know your client
We verify the company, its ultimate beneficial owners and authorised signatories, and understand the purpose of the relationship.
Gold demands certainty — about the metal, and about the people on both sides of the trade. Here is how we verify our clients, our payments and our supply.
Our framework
Monega Gold Trading is a limited liability company registered with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar under Commercial Registration No. 191764, and a member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As a dealer in precious metals, we apply the customer due-diligence, screening, reporting and record-keeping obligations of Qatar's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing framework, including Law No. (20) of 2019, together with the guidance issued to dealers in precious metals and stones.
In practice, this means we know exactly who we are dealing with before the first order — and we keep knowing it for as long as the relationship lasts.
In practice
They protect our clients as much as they protect us — and they make every bar you hold easier to account for.
We verify the company, its ultimate beneficial owners and authorised signatories, and understand the purpose of the relationship.
Clients, owners and related parties are screened against sanctions and politically exposed person lists — at onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
Bank transfers from the onboarded company's own account only. We do not accept cash or third-party payments.
Bars from recognised refineries, with supply-chain due diligence aligned with the OECD guidance on responsible mineral supply chains.
Opening an account
A typical checklist for a company in Qatar. We confirm the exact list for your structure, and provide a secure channel for sending documents — please do not send them by e-mail or chat.
Valid copies for the trading entity, plus the establishment card where applicable.
Shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners, with supporting documents.
Qatar ID or passport for owners, managers and authorised signatories.
A letter or resolution naming who may place orders and collect metal.
Details of the account from which payments will be made.
A short description of your activity and expected volumes.
Where we draw the line
Saying no is part of trading responsibly. These are not negotiable, whatever the size of the order.
Every order is linked to a verified client and its authorised people.
Payments come only from the client company's own bank account.
No dealings with sanctioned persons, entities or jurisdictions.
We only handle bars from recognised refineries with verifiable documentation.
Due-diligence files and transaction records are kept for the periods required by Qatari law. Where the law requires it, we report suspicious activity to the competent authorities — and we are not permitted to tell anyone when we do.
Client documents are held confidentially, used only for compliance and to serve you, and shared only where the law requires. See our privacy notice.
